Homer salmon fishing charters

Do you like combat fishing from the bank with all the mosquitoes, bears, and other stressed-out fishermen trying to
figure out what’s legal, what day of the week it is, or what an “adipose fin” is? If that’s not your idea of an Alaskan
fishing vacation, leave the bug dope, pepper spray, and fishing regulations attorney behind. Join us on a saltwater
salmon fishing charter where every fish we catch is chrome-bright, in the prime of its life, and full of fight! We fish for
king salmon all season, with the best action from late May to early July. Homer king salmon average around 20 pounds,
but it's not uncommon to catch one over 40! Sometimes we'll take a white or "ivory" king that looks identical to a regular
king salmon on the outside, but surprises us with pearly white flesh like a halibut on the inside. It's a rare delicacy. We
use downriggers for controlled-depth trolling; a very effective technique. Silver salmon are hot in August and
sometimes we’ll catch limits of these while filleting our halibut catch! Trolling and jigging take most of our silvers.
Try a winter king salmon fishing trip during the off-season or fish the winter king salmon derby held every year in
March. This is a popular event and we fill up fast, so book early. The "Last Laugh" goes back in the water on the 1st of
March each year. This is a great time to start prospecting for feeder king salmon that are present all year round.

These folks decided on a combo trip at the last minute in June 2007. Trolling near Point Pogibshi produced this feeder king salmon.
