Our wilderness yurt lodge in Chrome Bay is the perfect base camp for paddlers to explore the wildlife and natural history of Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula. Our five day, four night sea kayaking tours begin in the Homer Harbor Monday mornings at 6:30AM.

Our guided journey to Chrome Bay will take us along the Southern coast of Kachemak Bay and around Point Adam where we enter the Gulf of Alaska. On the way, there will be many opportunities to stop and view sea otters, puffins, whales, mountain goats, and much more. We’ll get settled-in to comfortable double-occupancy yurt lodging, and gather for an orientation.

Your fully guided itinerary will vary based on time of year, weather, and group preference. You can trust our experience and knowledge of Alaskan sea kayaking to custom build your tour to incorporate the best wilderness adventure available for the duration of your stay. Our guides are trained in coastal kayak leadership and will begin your sea kayaking trip with basic instruction in our sheltered and protected cove.

Once everyone feels comfortable with their new skills, we’ll paddle and explore our way along the Chrome Bay shoreline and the coast of Port Chatham. Safety is our number one priority, and a motorized vessel is always just a radio call away. Wildlife is definitely the focus of this trip. Our stealthy and quiet approach is a perfect way to view animals in their natural environment with minimum impact. We might be able to do a little fishing on the way too!
